StandardAero has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) as an affiliate member. The company is an independent service provider offering maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for engines and airframes, engine component repairs, engineering services, interior completions, and paint applications.
This American company operates through a global network of more than 50 facilities across six continents, delivering OEM-authorized MRO services for a wide range of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units (APUs).
Its presence in Latin America is not new. Recently, StandardAero celebrated 15 years of its service center in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Since its opening in 2009, this center has supported nearly 2,000 engines and APUs. In addition to servicing at its own facilities, the company has deployed Mobile Service Teams (MST) to perform on-site maintenance. In 2022, it received authorizations from regulatory authorities in Argentina and Chile, allowing it to provide engine MRO services for aircraft registered in both countries through its Brazil-based MST.
Additionally, the company has signed agreements with regional airlines to support CFM International LEAP-1A turbofan engines powering Airbus A320neo fleets. Among these agreements is a notable one with Avianca, offering support for an indefinite number of LEAP-1A engines based on the airline's operational needs.
Furthermore, StandardAero recently became the first non-airline provider in North America to obtain the CFM Branded Service Agreement (CBSA) for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, further consolidating its expertise and leadership in engine MRO services.
“StandardoAero is proud to become ALTA’s newest affiliate member, reflecting the importance of the Latin American and Caribbean region to our company,” said Sebastien Maury, StandardAero’s Sales Director for Latin America. “Our Airlines & Fleets division alone has over 100 active customers in the region, and our Component Repair Services (CRS) segment also supports operators across the continent. With our CFM56-7B and LEAP-1A/LEAP-1B overhaul facilities in Texas attracting a growing list of customers from Latin America and the Caribbean, StandardAero looks forward to contributing to a safer, cost efficient, profitable and sustainable environment for airlines in the region", Maury emphasized.
