Panama, October 7, 2021 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) welcomes among its consulting members ASBZ, multidisciplinary Brazilian law firm with a strong presence in advising domestic and international airlines, charter companies, associations and industry service providers.

ASBZ actively participates in debates on issues relevant to the airline industry, as well as in regulatory processes conducted by the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC), by other bodies of the Public Administration and by the Legislative Branch, in addition to acting on demands of individual client interest, involving, among other issues, litigation and civil, regulatory, labor, tax, mergers and acquisitions, competition legislation, public civil actions, data protection and obtaining licenses and authorizations.

“ALTA continues to actively work on adding new members who contribute to the development of the aviation industry in Latin America and the Caribbean. The association already counts with 114 active members working together on ALTA committees and collaborating in the campaigns we are developing to achieve a great impact on the recovery process we are experiencing, and which will generate direct benefits for our countries and populations. For this reason, we are pleased to welcome, among our consultants, the law firm ASBZ, whose team has extensive experience in the aeronautical sector in Brazil and abroad and I am sure that its participation in these initiatives will be a collaboration of mutual benefit”, said José Ricardo Botelho, Executive Director and CEO of ALTA.

“ASBZ has been following ALTA’s work for many years and frequently participates in its events, in addition to already working in partnership with the association on issues of great impact for Brazilian civil aviation. Meeting the demands of the airline industry has always been in our DNA and as we are a multidisciplinary office, we have specialists in air transport in each of our areas, which allows us to combine the legal vision with the knowledge of the activity, delivering to our partners and customers solutions that meet the criteria of legality and operational feasibility. It is a pleasure to be able to contribute, as an ALTA member, to the development of civil aviation in Brazil and Latin America”, said Thiago Carvalho, partner responsible for the aviation area at ASBZ.

The practice of ASBZ involves regulatory, consumer, civil, tax, labor, corporate, data protection and environmental legislation. Guilherme Amaral and Thiago Carvalho are the partners responsible for the office’s aviation area. Guilherme is cited in Chambers Latin America and in The Legal 500 Latin America, two of the most relevant publications in the legal market worldwide. Thiago Carvalho has 12 years of experience in aeronautical law, recognized expertise in regulatory matters and is a member of the Aeronautical Law Commission of the OAB/RJ.
