The opening ceremony, on Monday, October 19, will be led by Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines and current Chair of ALTA’s Executive Committee, and Peter Cerdá, CEO and Executive Director of ALTA.

The agenda will cover financing, fleet, artificial intelligence, air cargo, and the region’s regulatory future. Speakers will include Bryan Bedford, FAA Administrator; Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of WestJet Group; Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP Air Portugal; Michael Steen, CEO of Atlas Air; and Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of ABRA Group, among others. Representatives from ICAO, UN Tourism, and IATA will also attend.

Thus, the conference brings the aviation ecosystem’s key stakeholders together in one place to take a broad look at the industry and to outline the actions needed, and the actors who must drive them, to achieve its goals in the region.

The event will close on Tuesday, October 20, with the CEO panel “Shaping the Future of Latin American Aviation,” with Pedro Heilbron of Copa Airlines; Estuardo Ortiz of JetSMART; Andrés Conesa of Aeromexico; Fabián Lombardo of Aerolíneas Argentinas; and Gabriel Oliva of Avianca.

“Aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean has an extraordinary opportunity to connect more people, boost tourism, facilitate exports, and drive economic development across the region. Airlines are ready to keep growing and investing, but realizing that potential requires a shared vision and stronger collaboration among governments, airlines, airports, and all stakeholders in the ecosystem. The ALTA AGM brings together the leaders responsible for turning that vision into more connectivity, more opportunities, and greater prosperity for our region,” said Peter Cerdá, CEO of ALTA.
