Rafael Pástor Vélez is an Ecuadorian environmental lawyer and partner at Pérez Bustamante & Ponce, where he leads the Environmental practice. His work focuses on corporate sustainability, environmental compliance and the governance challenges associated with implementing climate-related regulation in highly regulated sectors. He advises companies on compliance programs, environmental due diligence and sustainability strategies, integrating legal requirements into operational decision-making. Rafael is a fellow of the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship and co-founder of Allpa Labs, an initiative developing technological tools for environmental management and regulatory monitoring. He teaches environmental law and compliance and regularly writes on sustainability, institutional governance and emerging regulation in Latin America.
