Jorge Armoa
OACI SAM
He was born in Itacurubí de la Cordillera, Paraguay. He completed his studies at the National University of Asunción, graduating as a Senior Technician in Meteorology in 1993, and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistical Mathematics in 2008. He undertook international internships at the U.S. National Weather Service and the University of Oklahoma (CIMMS).
He served in various technical and managerial positions at Paraguay’s Civil Aviation Authority (DINAC) from 1992 to 2014. Since June 2014, he has served as Regional Officer for Aeronautical Information Management and Aeronautical Meteorology at the ICAO South American Regional Office, and as Focal Point for Environmental Protection matters.
