Alex de Gunten is a highly respected aviation executive with over 30 years of experience. As Sr VP Government & Industry Affairs at HEICO Aerospace Corporation, a global leader in aerospace products and services, Alex drives strategic relationships with airlines and authorities worldwide and expands the company’s market presence.
Previously, Alex served as Executive Director of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), where he spearheaded initiatives to tackle industry challenges and foster collaboration among member airlines. He also held the role of Vice President of International at LATAM, playing a key role in growing the airline’s global footprint. Earlier in his career, Alex contributed to the strategic growth and operational efficiency of Canadian Airlines International through various leadership roles.
Alex’s contributions to aviation have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Air Transport World’s Decade of Excellence Award, ALTA’s Federico Bloch Award and the Flight Safety Foundation-Boeing Aviation Safety Lifetime Achievement Award, among others.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Queen’s University in Ontario. Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Alex is a sought-after speaker at global aviation forums.
